Time has been kind to NINJA MASTER'S. At launch, its infinite combos and balance issues overshadowed much of what it had to offer, but revisiting it today reveals an ambitious fighting game built around inventive ideas such as weapon switching, the Splendid Combination System, and the Super Power Gauge. Neo Geo Premium Selection provides the best way to experience these mechanics in a modern environment, offering players a chance to re-evaluate one of ADK's most underrated fighting games. It may not be flawless, but it remains a distinctive and rewarding fighter that is still well worth playing today.

Ninja Master's stands out for its serious atmosphere and the combination of combat mechanics for fighting with or without weapons. Its gameplay rewards attacking—due to the high damage inflicted—although the combos are simple and can become repetitive, or even a real headache when facing the GPU. This version, which joins the list of "hidden gems" in the NEO GEO Premium Selection, features online and training modes. It's not as polished as the greats of its era, but its classic art style, musical atmosphere, and dark tone are undoubtedly points to consider for trying one of the niche fighting games of the 90s in 2026.
