Critic Reviews for Rugby League Live 3
Rugby League Live 3 is close to being a great game. It’s certainly the best rugby game on new- and last-gen systems, but its steep learning curve, lack of training, AI weirdness, and returning sins from past games hold it back. It’s a shame, because when all the pieces click into place, this can be a compelling experience.
This is yet another rugby league game that requires patience and understanding to enjoy, compromises we have been expected to make for 20 years now and with so many other legitimately great games out there, both sports and otherwise, they are compromises few should or will make.
About a gazillion times better than Rugby World Cup 2015, but it's just not able to compete in the big leagues against well made, polished titles like FIFA 16, NBA 2K16 and Madden 16.
Rugby League Live 3 contains a multitude of impressive features that you'd usually really only expect from the 2ks and EAs of this world and that's to the developer's credit. Extremely detailed off the pitch and generally fun on it, the game is it's only let down by a number of areas where the polish hasn't been applied as well as it could have been. Sadly, those issues do start to mount up with extended play but was it not for the player selection issue, it would have scored an extra point here for sure.
