Critic Reviews for F1 2016
F1 2016 is a fantastic return for the racing series, delivering a deep and exciting Career Mode alongside thrilling and fluid racing and varied gameplay modes.
AI wobbles remain, but this is an excellent racing game, and an authentic Formula One experience.
F1 2016 is definitively the best Formula One game Codemasters has ever crafted. Deep and nuanced, stuffed with fan service, and as demanding as you’d like it to be, this is worthy fare for the motorsport obsessed while remaining accessible for the merely curious, and absolutely worth the upgrade from previous years. If F1 2016 and last year’s Dirt Rally are indicative of the level of quality we’re going to get from Codemasters going forward I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Codemasters nerds out for its most detailed, most hardcore and most satisfying Formula One game to date.
The career mode is not just fun to play because it’s back, but the way it’s implemented is well-suited to the sport
F1 2016 rewards reflexes and tactful driving to create the most authentic F1 game to date.
After feeling light on content last year, the official F1 game returns with a fully-comprehensive career mode that spans 10 seasons. It also features a broad array of racing options, rivals mode, multiplayer for up to 22 participants, safety car and formation laps and, most importantly of all, really close and exciting competition. It all adds up to a thoroughly entertaining racing game that should please F1 and driving enthusiasts alike.
A championship season and time trial mode are both accessible and each will push you to your talent limits. Overall, the mix in gameplay and modes are both satisfying and rewarding. Above all, the pure physics system and exact handling of cars are what fans should enjoy the most. Even for those who aren’t quite familiar of the sport or don’t play racing simulators, F1 2016 has a little bit of everything for everyone.
