If NeuroVoider wanted to push the roguelike genre into RPG territory it certainly leaves a good impression at that. While the difficulty level often cranks up in a way that goes too far for many, this frantic game has plenty to keep its players clinging on to it like to their dear lives, which are not taken very seriously in Neurovoider's world.

NeuroVoider is the textbook definition of “git gud.” Though some may balk at its challenge and grind, those who stick with it will get absorbed in the search for the perfect run.

Neurovoider has its high points that are leveled out by its faults. It’s a fairly solid trial of perseverance with little reward other than its own players self accomplishments within. Its bite sized levels will keep you coming back for more, but its sudden difficulty barriers will send you packing.

Neurovoider brings a solid presentation with its retro style and a sweet dark synth soundtrack. Despite the extreme difficulty that comes with the roguelike format, the fun shoot'em up gameplay kept me coming back. The deep customization and RPG elements make this one a no-brainer for roguelike fans, especially if you have a group of friends to team up with.

Insert your brain into one of the three robot classes available on NeuroVoider and turn your enemies into junk. In this game there are many genres such as roguelike, shoot'em up and RPG, in a frenetic combination added with a soundtrack that increase the action to unsuspected limits.

NeuroVoider is a fun release, but I do think there are better twin-stick shooters available on the PlayStation 4. While being a roguelike will be to the taste of gamers that like a challenge, this will also ward off some other looking for a more casual experience.

This combination of factors doesn't make NeuroVoider a particularly revolutionary title, but it does make it a fantastic example of how all the things so popular within the indie scene can be accomplished to a highly satisfying degree in a single package.

Neurovoider is a blast to play. The customization, detailed artwork, and the soundtrack all fit amazingly in this twin-stick shooter. Though lacks in online multiplayer, it makes up in customization depth and procedural levels to not make it so repetitive. At a $13.99 price tag I would definitely pick this up if you're into this genre and have a buddy or two to play with.
