Don't Open The Doors! Reviews
While visually appealing, the game ultimately falters due to schizophrenic difficulty and a story that’s hard to follow. The forgiving death mechanic made the uncertain levels bearable, but didn’t quite redeem them back to entertaining. As far as appearances go, it stood out as its own title, Don’t Open the Doors fell short in regards to story and gameplay.
Don’t Open the Doors! is a game with soul. People cared about this game, but the gameplay just isn’t there.
Despite its brevity and simplistic nature, Don’t Open The Doors! offers an incredibly unique experience that’s worth it alone just for the extraordinary stop motion animation.
Objectively, I don't really see much of a flaw with this game at all. It was actually put together beautifully, but, personally, it wasn't the most gripping or entertaining game I've ever played. This is entirely down to preference and I encourage anyone to give it a go. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. If you like claymation, and indie games, and RPGs.
