Critic Reviews for Vertical Drop Heroes HD
Ultimately, Vertical Drop Heroes HD is fun for a few hours, but gets repetitive quickly. The asking price is low so it might be worth a look if it really tickles your fancy, but Rogue Legacy is only £4 more expensive and accomplishes similar ideas more effectively and with more depth.
The problem with Vertical Drop Heroes HD is that it's not very fun.
Vertical Drop Heroes is a cheap and certainly cheerful 2D platformer, and pretty enjoyable, although it's unlikely to hold your attention for too long. It's a game that's as much about luck and perseverance than actual skill, but Roguelike fans who want something a little lighter might well enjoy this.
Vertical Drop Heroes is a really solid game. While there are a couple of things I could (and did) nitpick, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. If you're looking for a fun and slightly different type of RPG that you can easily play in spurts, definitely give this one a go.
Vertical Drop Heroes is a remake of a browser-based game from the turn of the decade. It does procedural and roguelike in a quick and fun way but ultimately is only for fans of this genre. What it does it does well, but that is limited.
Vertical Drop Heroes HD is a fun roguelike experience on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. Replaying levels as you learn new abilities and purchase upgrades for all of heroes is highly addictive and will easily keep you playing for hours. The one complaint I have about the game is that the font is extremely tiny. If you're not sitting a few feet from your TV you won't be able to read what the game is trying to tell you. But overall, that's the one complain I can make about the game. But other than that I definitely recommend you get this one from
I had a lot of fun with Vertical Drop Heroes HD. The action and pacing are great, and the challenge is never overwhelming. When I died, I knew it was due to my own fault. The one complaint I'd have is that the game looks a bit dark on the PS Vita. And yes, I have the portable's brightness set to max. Other than that, the game is a lot of fun, and with Cross-Buy functionality and its decent price, the game is definitely worth your time and money.
Vertical Drop Heroes HD is a somewhat addictive yet short-lived roguelike adventure.
