The Disney Afternoon Collection is the kind of collection that can genuinely bring tears to the eyes of nostalgic players. Bringing together major classics from the beloved NES era while also adding two heavyweight Super Nintendo titles, this package feels like a true time capsule. More than just a compilation, it stands as a heartfelt gift for those who lived through (or want to experience) the golden age of Disney games in the 1990s. It’s a loving revival of titles that helped shape an entire generation and that, even decades later, still retain their charm, challenge, and unmistakable personality.

Disney Afternoon Collection feels right at home on the Switch, especially given that these were all Nintendo games when they first came out. The addition of Bonkers and Goof Troop are nice bonuses, but only if you really love one of these particular games. The rest of these games, however, are still great and essential for fans of Disney and NES platformers.

The Disney Afternoon Collection is a brilliant bunch of Disney video games that are mostly well worth playing 30+ years later. Though some of the games stand out above others, they’re largely a blast to play, with the two new inclusions standing out as especially grand games that certainly deserve some additional spotlight. I hope Digital Eclipse and Atari find a way to get Bonkers and Goof Troop to the other platforms’ versions of The Disney Afternoon Collection, because they’ve really made this an essential gathering of retro classics.

The Disney Afternoon Collection makes it easy to re-live the part of the '90s that's worth re-living, i.e. the part that has doesn't involve neon shoelaces.
