Spellspire takes a simple word game and spices it up with some interesting RPG elements, adding some tactical thinking to the usual "spell big words to win" formula.
Spellspire is a simple and enjoyable word-forming RPG-like adventure but it doesn't quite do enough to create a memorable take on the genre.
Spellspire has a nice concept and a creative gameplay, mixing a letter scramble game with quick battles. There is good diversity of items, equipment and enemies. However, since the game holds the same structure of its mobile version, with the absence of microtransactions, its qualities are overshadowed by an excessive grinding that discourages in the medium term.

Spellspire tries to offer an interesting mix of spelling games and RPGs. Unfortunately, too much of the game is left to luck, and the elemental system made to provide something less luck-based never really matters.
Should you drop in on the tower of Spellspire, then you’ll no doubt enjoy what 10tons have created. It’s good fun, it’s hugely addictive and it comes with enough content to have you still playing some months down the line.
