Teslagrad Reviews
Teslagrad is another great addition to the Switch's eShop library. It may be a difficult sell for folks who have already experienced it over the past few years, but with some truly clever puzzles and gorgeous visuals, newcomers are in for a treat.
Teslagrad offers a visually appealing platformer that has solid performance and fun game mechanics. Unfortunately it falls very short in terms of story and logic making the game feel more like an awesome tech demo rather than a full on game.
Teslagrad is a great entry in the metroidvania genre, and proves that this small Swedish studio that is Rain Games could potentially have a great future in game making. Filled with riddles and challenges, the core game's mechanics is quite interesting, and its artistic direction is a treat to the eye and ears. It would be a shame to miss this experience on the Nintendo Switch, unless you already played it on previously released platforms.
I attempted to keep everything roughly as vague as possible in the review because I think one of the greatest things for me about the game was coming into it having know very little. This allowed the game to feel a little more magical to me rather than as a chain of expected events and tools to be found. If you enjoy creative and sometimes challenging platforming with a bits of puzzles thrown in Teslagrad is a game to be savored, and stands out as something a bit special among its peers.
