The Tenth Line Reviews
The indie RPG is a valiant effort for a small team, but doesn't quite emulate the spirit or quality of the games which inspired it.
Final Thoughts We liked The Tenth Line with its 16-bit art style, and interesting story. The battle battle system does take a bit of trial and error, but stick with the game since it's worth the effort. For $12.99, this is definitively a game worth playing!
The Tenth Line is a good game that is fun from start to finish. If you like colorful RPG with a pixel art style and a nice Metroidvania/platforming vibe, then you should definitely check out The Tenth Line. It has plenty of content to offer, a fun battle system, and a solid card mini-game that will keep you busy for a while.
Sungazer Software’s first commercial title claims to offer a colorful world to explore, 2D platforming action, treasure hunting, power acquisition and skill training, and battle against dozens of foes at once. How does the end result fare?
This love-letter to JRPGs of the 90s carries some rough edges. But those mostly serve to give the game more character, and keep it more interesting than the polished balls of nothingness that so often came out back then.
