Arcade Edition is what Street Fighter V should have been when it was first released. A great deal of added content in single-player mode, a wide variety of characters, thrilling gameplay, ear-catching soundtracks, and an engaging online mode with good netcode have been combined to create one of the best fighting games in recent memory. No matter if you are an old fan of the series or a newcomer, the game is definitely worth your time and attention.

It's taken Capcom just under two years to finally deliver the definitive Street Fighter V experience but I'm so happy they continued to support the game and released this version, especially seeing as it's free to all current owners of the base game. If you are new to the genre and want to start slow, there is now a full, meaty single player and an arcade mode for you to both practice and progress though.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is the game that should've been when it was launched in 2016. Finally complete with numerous game modes, challenges and competitive elements, it offers a great diversity of options that combines with a gameplay that is easy to learn, but hard to master. A nice blend between the logical evolution of the genre and the nostalgic roots of a series that has marked the fighting game legacy, if not gaming's history as a whole.

After two years of additions and tweaks, Capcom has finally gotten Street Fighter V into the state it should've launched in. What was only a tournament-ready fighter is now a robust package. A roster of 29 characters, the long-awaited Arcade Mode, Extra Battle, Challenges, a great Training Mode, and solid online play add up to a release that shouldn't be missed for avid fighting game fans.
