VRFC Virtual Reality Football Club Critic Reviews
View All (5 total)VRFC is not a good representation of football, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Like the table-top variety, it doesn't need to be accurate to be entertaining, and once you embrace the insanity there's fun to be had. VRFC is flawed and disconnected, but also spontaneous, amusing, challenging, and fun. At this budget price, we can think of worse ways to spend a weekend.
You’re not going to get the accurate footballing experience that you might’ve been hoping for with VRFC, but it does embrace the fundamentals of the ‘beautiful game’ in a way that makes for a social, chaotic, and incredibly fun virtual reality experience. Sure, the controls are a bit fiddly and there’s a big dependence on an active online community, but every minute I spent with the game has been incredibly enjoyable – and maybe even a bit sweaty… In all, VRFC is a great addition to PlayStation VR’s multiplayer catalogue and a title that footballing fans will definitely want to check out.
Overall the idea is really good – a fitness game based around football which has the physics of Rocket League… But it’s just not executed that well. A lot more needs to be put in the game as a whole before I can honestly say that it’s worth picking up. For £14.99, this is a game that’s definitely not worth your money. I think if there were patches to improve things and more game modes added in, it would be a much better game
As a social space to kick some digital footballs around in and have some janky laughs, it shines, but as a faithful rendition of the beautiful game, it's sadly a bit of a clumsy mess.
