A new Mythical Pokemon is making its way over to Pokemon Go.

Genesect will be coming to Pokemon Go this month. The Pokemon will be a part of a new Special Research event. The Special Research is a paid event, and a ticket must be purchased ahead of time at the Pokemon Go in-game shop for $8. The new quest is called A Drive to Investigate, and will begin at 8 a.m. local time on March 20th. The event will last until 10 p.m. local time on March 26th. Those who do not buy the ticket will get a chance to encounter Genesect in EX Raids starting in April. The event's story quest will also lead to encounter with other Bug and Steel type Pokemon such as Pinsir, Scizor, Skarmory, and Durant. Those who purchase a ticket will also receive a few other perks, including a Genesect-themed cap and backpack for their avatar.

Running along with the Genesect event is the previously mentioned "mystery weekend event." The vent will run from March 20-23. During this event, Normal, Fire, Water, Electric, and Ice Pokemon will spawn in the wild more frequently. Nincada will appear more often, with the chance of it being shiny. Lower-level Raids will feature Bug or Steel type Pokemon, and Karrablast and Shelmet will hatch more frequently from 5 km eggs. Players will also receive double the normal amount of Stardust when catching and hatching Pokemon.

After the "mysterious weekend event" is the Psychic Spectacular. This event will be held from March 27-30. During this weekend, Psychic Pokemon will appear more often in the wild, with the chance of encountering new Psychic type Pokemon, including Solosis and Gothita. There will be the chance to encounter a shiny Baltoy, as well as special Field Research tasks during the event.

It should be noted that in-game events for March may vary in Italy, Japan, and South Korea due to the coronavirus outbreak.
