Marvel Rivals Fan Turns Bruce Banner Into Doctor Octopus

When PSN went down earlier this month, indie developer WickedCube found a new distraction — Marvel Rivals modding. Spurred on by some "really cool Doc Ock fan art" (pictured below), they put together a prototype for what this iconic Spider-Man villain might look like if he was ever added to the game.

Modders also made Doc Ock playable in Marvel's Spider-Man back in 2022.

They envision Doc Ock as a Vanguard, ie Marvel Rivals' answer to tanks. But given the four extra metal arms on his back, he's much more versatile, able to scale walls with claws that snap to nearby surfaces.

As reported by IGN, WickedCube also came up with a few abilities to round out Doc Ock's design.

His base melee attack, Havoc Claw, strikes enemies with his two upper arms, while his ranged attack, Wrecking Grip, flings objects at opponents. He can also leap forward with Cephalopod Dash and block incoming projectiles with Tentacle Aegis, using all four of his mechanical arms.

They used Bruce Banner as a stand-in model for Otto Octavius.
