Halo Infinite Was Reportedly Going To Get Yearly Campaign Updates, New Game Modes

Back in July 2020, 343 Industries, which has since been renamed Halo Studios, shared that there wouldn't be a Halo Infinite 2. Rather, the existing Halo Infinite would serve as a platform for future updates, including story content.

“We want Infinite to grow over time, versus going to those numbered titles and having all that segmentation that we had before,” studio head Chris Lee said at the time. “It’s really about creating Halo Infinite as the start of the next ten years for Halo and then building that as we go with our fans and community.”

In the end, almost none of that came to pass. While the game did receive five seasons' worth of content, it never received a sixth, instead moving to "Operations." Now, via a new YouTube video from creator Rebs Gaming, we now have an idea of what that 10-year plan was set to bring.

According to the video, the Halo Infinite multiplayer experience was originally expected to launch in 2019, touting it as "the lowest barrier of entry to any Halo game." Instead, the experience came in 2021.
