Those who plan to play Death Stranding 2: On the Beach when it releases late this year can choose what they prioritize more in a game: its visual fidelity or how smoothly it plays.

While Kojima Productions hasn't made any official announcement, multiple previews have surfaced this past week that confirms Death Stranding 2's graphical modes.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Performance and Quality Mode Confirmed At Launch

The Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley confirmed this over on X (formerly Twitter), by stating that the game he played runs at 60 frames-per-second (fps) for Performance Mode, and 30fps in Quality Mode. Keighley preferred playing the game in Performance, which I assume most gamers will opt for as well.

The newly resurrected Game Informer confirmed this as well in their hands-on preview where it mentions Performance Mode is also the recommended setting gven the slight hit in visuals isn't enough to sacrifice that buttery-smooth 60fps gameplay.
