Final Fantasy's Worst Minigame Is Coming To Magic: The Gathering

Possibly the worst minigame in the history of the Final Fantasy franchise is coming to Magic: The Gathering as part of the upcoming crossover between both games. Luckily, there’s a better reward for finishing it in the tabletop game.

The Final Fantasy franchise is well-known for slotting minigames in alongside the lengthy main stories. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the biggest recent example of this, as it was overflowing with different side activities to take part in, while Sephiroth was free to follow his evil plan.

A new spoiler post on the MagicTCG Reddit has revealed a new card from the Final Fantasy set. It’s called Sidequest: Play Blitzball, and it’s an Enchantment card based on the sports minigame from Final Fantasy X.

Blitzball Is A Magic: The Gathering Card

In Final Fantasy X, Blitzball was an underwater soccer-style game, where players could use special RPG abilities to beat the other team. It was a slow affair and incredibly boring to boot, with the only saving grace being an oversight that let players win by hiding in their own goal.
