Lies of P Overture is going to balance increased accessibility with something for hardcore soulslike fans.
Publisher Neowiz has confirmed that the upcoming Overture prequel expansion for their soulslike Lies of P will also add two easier difficulty modes for the base game, along with a boss rush mode for hardcore players.
These two additions were confirmed by the game’s director Choi Ji-won while talking to PCGamesN, and he reassured them that the game will always be difficult, but he wants to attract new players who may have been turned off by the difficulty.

Being a soulslike, the expectation for Lies of P is for it to be a serious challenge, and the discussion of difficulty options is often met with scorn by longtime fans of the genre, who see the sense of accomplishment from overcoming the challenge as the whole point of the genre.
Something interesting is that once included Choi himself, who originally said that Lies of P would not have difficulty settings, and even that he doesn’t believe soulslikes should have them at all. Lies of P was intended to be accessible enough without them, anyway.
