The next Borderlands 3 expansion is coming soon.
2K Games has announced that the next Borderlands 3 expansion, entitled Psycho Kreig and the Fantastic Fustercluck, will release on September 10th. The expansion sees scientist Patricia Tannis cracking one of the galaxy's greatest mysteries: what is it that makes the Borderlands' psychos so deranged? It is her belief that the secret lies with Vaulthalla, a mythical place that drives all who learn its true nature insane. Since the average psycho will not peacefully share the secrets of Vaulthalla, the closest thing that the Vault Hunters will get is Kreig, a fellow Crimson Raider. Since Kreig is not the best communicator, the Vault Hunters will be beamed directly into his consciousness where they can discover Vaulthalla for themselves. Players will have to team up with Kreig's two opposing personas, a raging murder machine and a calm inner voice, if they want a chance to reap Vaulthalla's rewards.
In Kreig and the Fantastic Fustercluck, players will see things the way that he does. This includes his perception of his fellow Crimson Raiders, such as his beloved Maya. However, Kreig's imagination is a very dangerous place. It is filled with the memories of slain enemies and the manifestations of deeply repressed demons.
According to Boerderlands 3's website, those who have not made it far enough into the game's story to use Sanctuary III will still be able to play the expansion. They just have to create a new Vault Hunter and level-boost them to jump right into the madness. The enemies and loot that are encountered in Kreig's consciousness will be scaled to player level. Gamers will be able to collect new Legendary items, Vault Hunter Heads, Weapon Trinkets, Room Decorations, and more. The game's level cap will also be increased to 65.
Borderlands 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Psycho Kreig and the Fantastic Fustercluck will be available as a part of the Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition and the game's Season Pass.
