Fallout Creator Explains Why We Won't See The Original Games Remastered Soon, If Ever

Before Bethesda took over the Fallout franchise with 2008's Fallout 3, the series looked very different.

Instead of a first-person open-world Western RPG, the original Fallout games were top-down, isometric(ish, officially, they're trimeric) games with turn-based combat.

Some also argue that the original titles, developed by Interplay Games, are the best in the series.

While you're still able to boot these games up today in their original form, some people are clamoring for a full-blown remake or remaster, akin to what we just saw with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

On the one hand, I see it: even if all these games get is a graphical update, that can go a long way to making these beloved games more approachable for a new audience. There's no need to tweak the gameplay, especially given the popularity of games like Baldur's Gate 3.

Sadly, I wouldn't expect these remasters to happen anytime soon. Honestly, don't expect them to happen, well, ever.
