Surprisingly, Mario Kart World has not topped the Switch 2 eShop sales charts since the console’s launch, and it wasn’t even in second place.
This news comes from gaming sales analytics firm Newzoo, who published a summary of early Switch 2 digital sales and engagement data from the Nintendo eShop to determine if the console is likely to be friendly to third-party titles going forward.
For most fans, the most interesting data they present is most likely the top five ranking by raw digital sales numbers: Deltarune, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, Mario Kart World, Minecraft, and No Man’s Sky.
Deltarune Tops Digital Sales Charts
Deltarune sitting at the top of the chart isn’t much of a surprise for anyone who’s been following the buildup to its release, given how heavily it was promoted by Nintendo leading up to the Switch 2 launch.
It also has a sizable fanbase, not to mention being incredibly well-received.
Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is a much bigger surprise to see on the list, considering the backlash to what is essentially a glorified tech demo being a paid release.
Still, it seems the $10 base price tag was hard for Switch 2...
