It hasn't taken very long for Wizards of the Coast to begin experimenting with Baldur's Gate 3 properties following the 'departure' of Larian Studios from the IP.

A new campaign sourcebook for the Forgotten Realms setting of Dungeons & Dragons, entitled Heroes of Faerûn, is set to release in November. The cover features Karlach and Minsc from Baldur's Gate 3, as well as Jarlaxle and Vajra Safahr, two characters that have appeared in various Forgotten Realms media over the years.

The sourcebook will have three digital-only expansions: Astarion's Book of Hungers, Netheril's Fall and a final, unannounced expansion. The former is themed around vampirism, and is narrated by everyone's favourite blood-sucking pale elf.

Astarion's Book of Hungers is set to feature "a fully detailed map and backstory for Astarion's favourite tavern from before the events of Baldur's Gate 3." The ever-perceptive Baldur's Gate 3 community have already singled out a tavern from the game that Astarion has some personal history with.
