As revealed during Tuesday's gamescom Opening Night Live, Ghost of Yotei is bringing back the popular Legends multiplayer mode that was present in the original Ghost of Tsushima.
The multiplayer experience will be coming in 2026, and it'll be completely free to those who own Yotei. According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, the mode will offer two-player story missions, as well as four-player survival matchups.
This time around, you’ll play as one of four character classes and try to defeat demonic, giant versions of members of the Yōtei Six, plus a variety of new enemies that fight alongside them.
Previously, during a Ghost of Yotei-dedicated State of Play, it was revealed that the game would launch with multiple modes dedicated to some of the most iconic Japanese filmmakers of all-time.
At launch, the game will bring back the popular "Kurosawa Mode," which turns the game's lush colors into dreary black and white, taking cues from the legendary Akira Kurosawa himself. Film grain, audio filtering and enhanced wind effects highlight a mode that has been developed in partnership with Kurosawa's estate.
