Baldur's Gate 3 could possibly be considered the best Dungeons & Dragons game of all time. The way Larian has weaved D&D rules into its gameplay offers ultimate player freedom, giving you the tools to overcome obstacles in any way you like. While not every BG3 player is well-versed in D&D rules, those who are can bend the world to their will.

However, considering that it's still a video game, there will always be limitations, and you won't be able to do all the things you can in a tabletop RPG. Now that most players have finished multiple playthroughs, some have been wondering why the game doesn't have a game master mode to create custom campaigns. What they didn't realise is that Larian already has a great RPG with such a feature.

Imagine setting up a campaign within the world of Baldur's Gate 3. While such fan projects already exist due to the mods tool, there isn't an in-game level or campaign creator that lets you become the game master. With the amount of content that Baldur's Gate 3 contains, a custom campaign tool would have spawned a whole industry of custom campaigns within the game.
