Back in 2014, before Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual harassment and assault, he starred in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare as Jonathan Irons, the villainous Atlas Corporation CEO.
This is Spacey's only video game role aside from the Superman Returns tie-in.
Spacey was acquitted by a London jury two years ago, while a US court found him not liable in a sexual battery lawsuit filed by actor Anthony Rapp. But with several others alleging similar abuse in the years since—including Guy Pearce—and Spacey himself admitting to "being too handsy" and "pushing the boundaries", he has kept a low profile while his reputation remains tarnished.
However, Advanced Warfare director Glen Schofield argued that Spacey's role "doesn't taint the game."
"At the time, that's the actor I wanted," Schofield told PC Gamer. "When he was on set, and we said action, he was unbelievable. He just is a great actor, right? Then, when we said cut, you could tell [that] video games weren't his thing."
