An Incense Day will be held this weekend in Pokémon GO, and will feature the Electric-type Pokémon Mareep.

On the Pokémon GO blog, it was announced that this Sunday, January 24th, will be an Incense Day, celebrating the fact that Mega Ampharos is now available in Mega Raids. The event will start at 11:00 a.m. local time, and will last until 5:00 p.m. While the main Pokémon that will be focused on during the event is Mareep, the Incense Day will also feature Electric- and Dragon-type Pokémon. During the event, Incense will attract more Mareep, and will give players the chance to find a Shiny one. If players evolve Flaafy (Mareep's evolved form) during the Incense Day, they will be rewarded with an Ampharos that will know the previously Community Day-exclusive attack Dragon Pulse. There will also be an event-exclusive 1 PokeCoin bundle that features three Incense in the shop.

In addition to Mareep, different Pokémon will be attracted to Incense at different times during the event. During the times that Electric Pokémon will be featured, players can attract Pikachu Magnemite, Voltorb, Chinchou, Plusle, and Minun. Lucky trainers will run into a Stunfisk. During the hours that Dragon Pokémon will be featured, Pokémon attracted to Incense will include Horsea, Dratini, Trapinch, Vibrava, and Swablu. If a trainer is lucky, they may run into a Bagon. You can see the different times that certain Pokémon will show up below:

  • 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Electric-type Pokémon
  • 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Dragon-type Pokémon and those that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon
  • 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Electric-type Pokémon
  • 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Dragon-type Pokémon and those that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon

This weekends Incense Day is not the only upcoming event for Pokémon GO. It was announced last week that the next Community Day will take place on February 7th, and will feature the Pokémon Roselia. During the event, Roselia will appear in the wild more often, with there being a chance to run into a shiny one. Those who evolve their Roselia during the Community Day will receive a Roserade that will know the Charged Attack Weather Ball (Fire-type), as well as the Fast Attack Bullet Seed. Budew will hatch from 2 km Eggs during the event. There will also be event-exclusive Timed Research, as well as a Special Research Story.

Pokémon GO is available now for mobile devices.
