Dying Light: The Beast might have begun development as DLC for the second game, before becoming its own standalone project, but director Nathan Lemaire argues that it's the perfect jumping-on point to sink your teeth into Techland's hit zombie series.
"I think the best way, as a new player to the series, if you want to experience the best of Dying Light, well ...The Beast is the best option," Lemaire tells TheGamer. "It has the best of both worlds. It's ten years of expertise into making Dying Light the ultimate zombie game franchise."
A big part of that is Kyle Crane, the returning protagonist of the first game, who has escaped captivity and is out for revenge against Marius 'The Baron' Fischer. While much of The Baron's character is still shrouded in mystery, we know that they're the last remaining descendant of an old pharmaceutical dynasty and have spent 13 years experimenting on Crane.
Dying Light devs are already thinking about the series' next game.
“In Castor Woods, the Baron is the subject of many stories and rumours—some exaggerated, some born of fear, and others mere gossip," quest designer Kalina Sobierajska explains. "People in the valley hate him for...
