Sucker Punch Breaks Silence On Ghost Of Yotei Dev Fired Over Charlie Kirk Post

Last week, Ghost of Yotei developer Sucker Punch made headlines for seemingly firing an employee who had made light of Charlie Kirk's assassination, which took place at a university in Utah on September 10. Shortly after the event, an artist working on the game called Drew Harrison made a post on BlueSky which read "I hope the shooter’s name is Mario so that Luigi knows his bro got his back."

Those that found this to be in poor taste went on to report Harrison to both Sony and Sucker Punch, which eventually led to her losing her job, as she later posted, "If standing up against fascism is what cost me my dream job I held for ten years, I would do it again 100x stronger." Now, Sucker Punch has addressed the situation for the first time in a new interview with Game File.

In the interview, Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Fleming was asked about what had transpired between the studio and Harrison. Despite the interviewer expecting a "no comment", Fleming talked surprisingly openly, starting out by saying that "the facts are accurate."
