On the many forums and discussion boards of the internet, players are gravitating towards Vex and Rafa (especially the former) as the ideal choices to destroy the dangerous denizens of Kairos.
However, content creator Moxsy, who has become my go-to for overpowered Borderlands 4 builds, has discovered one of the most optimal ways of building Amon, and it's centred around ordnance.

The build primarily takes advantage of the Forgeknight's 'Vengeance' (or Blue) skill tree. It's centred around skills that increase gun damage and ordnance damage, as, with the use of a passive called "Full Spectrum Arsenal", gun damage increases are applied to ordnance, along with an extra 50% (0.5) boost.
Scorched Kairos, Tail of the Comet, Bullet Hail, Icy Rage, Primal Surge and Blackout all synergise with this build, offering elemental damage, regenerating ammo and, of course, additional damage.
