Steam has been rather difficult to work with for many developers over the past year, mostly thanks to payment processors putting pressure on the platform to pull adult-rated content that may offend or upset certain people. It's seen various developers impacted, and Steam isn't really a great place to sell your game anymore if you're looking to touch upon more adult themes.
You'll struggle to find a developer that knows this more than Santa Ragione, the studio that made well-loved indie titles like Saturnalia and Wheels of Aurelia. Unfortunately, despite all the talent that's at the studio, it may soon be forced to shut its doors, and it lays the blame solely at Valve's feet for refusing to platform its upcoming horror title Horses.
