Last night, Geoff Keighley posted a cryptic photo of a strange petrified corpse pile beside a yonic doorway in the desert, captioned, "regal.inspiring.thickness". Presumably, it's a tease for some showstopping reveal at The Game Awards, but what exactly that might be, nobody is sure.
Some have speculated that the giant, monstrous crocodile reaching out with its oddly humanoid arm is a Daedroth, while others noted that the armour featured in the centre resembles the Carved Nordic set, or even Elven. u/Kami-no-dansei, meanwhile, put forward that the figure below the crocodile looks like a Dremora, though, as some refuted, it has vampiric teeth and more monstrous features.
The theory goes that this is a doorway in the Hammerfell desert, perhaps leading to Molag Bal's shrine, with the 'Dremora' being one of his vampire spawn, and the forlorn, ghostly figures carved into the rock embodying the Soul Shriven. That Elven armour may, in fact, be Harken's from the Dawnguad DLC of Skyrim. It's a solid theory, but it's also worth noting that Todd Howard expressed regret for announcing The Elder Scrolls 6 too soon, and only just said that it's "a long way off", so the odds of it showing...
