Genshin Impact's next update will bring summer to the game.
On the PlayStation Blog, The release date for Genshin Impact's next update was revealed. The Version 1.6 update will release on June 9th. Those who have completed the main storyline in Liyue may now be able to move onto the new Archon Quest with Kazuha.
Version 1.6 of Genshin Impact will have a seasonal event: Midsummer Island Adventure. The story will begin when Klee receives a mysterious letter from a Dodo-King threatening to take Dodoco away from her. In order to help Klee, players will have to sail on a boat called a Waverider and explore a secluded archipelago scattered over a remote sea area. The Midsummer Island Adventure event will be broken up into four stages. The first will have players sail on the Waverider and destroy enemy floating towers and encampments. The second stage will comprise of racing by both sailing and flying. The third stage will have gamers take on a new enemy, Maguu Kenki. The final stage will have players clear out monster encampments with the aid of three kinds of Harpastum Bombs.
Rewards will await players in the Event Shop. By completing the main event challenges, gamers will earn two types of currency, Shiny Flotsam and Mini Harpastum. These currencies can be used for various resources and items as well as the new four-star catalyst Dodoco Tales up to maximum refinement.
The Version 1.6 update will also introduce summer-themed clothes for Jean and Barbara. This will be the first-ever chance to dress them up with alternate outfits. Jean's outfit will be available for purchase in the in-game Shop at a limited-time discount. Barbara's outfit will be free to claim by participating in the Echoing Tales event. During this event, items called Echoing Conches will be found all over the archipelago. By collecting the Echoing Conches, players will be able to listen to some interesting stories and tales, and can unlock Barbara's outfit by collecting enough Conches.
Genshin Impact's upcoming update will also introduce the first playable character from Inazuma, Kaedehara Kazuha. Kazuha will wield an Anemo Vision and a sword. Kazuha will boast a versatile combat style, and will also be able to provide buffs to teammates.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
