The House of Hikmah Is an Islamic Golden Age Narrative Adventure from Industry Veterans | TechRaptor

A group of industry veterans have banded together to create a new development studio by the name of Lunacy Studios, and its first project, The House of Hikmah, is a narrative adventure about "grief, legacy, and the search for purpose after profound loss".

As revealed in a press release, Lunacy Studios consists of staffers who've worked on franchises like Mass EffectAssassin's Creed, and Star Wars: Battlefront, although their debut project doesn't sound a whole lot like any of those titles.

Instead, it follows Maya, a "curious and sorrowful 14-year-old girl", as she looks for answers after her father passes away. The game is set during the Islamic Golden Age, so you can expect plenty of breathtaking architecture and deep philosophical discussion to boot.

As you explore your surroundings, you'll meet "historical scholars" from the period, who are navigating their own grief, and hold discussions with them in order to find "wisdom and comfort in their scientific and philosophical teachings".

It's not all conversation, though. Maya also has access to a magical heirloom from her father that allows her to "transform matter and solve metaphorical puzzles representative of her journey", including moving platforms, reactivating ancient machinery, and gliding...
