Divinity was one of the biggest reveals from yesterday's The Game Awards event. Larian Studios was all set for the announcement, keeping us guessing with that statue in the desert. Unfortunately, the surprise didn't hit as hard as the developer would have wished, as trademark filing leaks revealed that the statue was indeed teasing a new Divinity game.
However, Larian has never been one to shy away from the community, considering it won the Best Community Support Award. So, the studio decided to make the trademark filing, which spoiled the surprise, its banner picture on Twitter. Sure, their big surprise got ruined, but that's one way of rolling with the punches.
That statue had all of us guessing, with everything from Half-Life 3 to Elder Scrolls 6 being speculated. The trademark filings clearly revealed the design that featured on the statue, with Divinity attached to it. We now know how the statue came to be, thanks to the game's gruesome trailer, and Larian director of publishing, Michael Douse, also gave us some information on it.
The talented devs behind Baldur's Gate 3 are back with a brand-new Divinity game.
"It's called the Hellstone," he revealed in a tweet....
