In celebration of the reveal of Divinity, Larian shadowdropped current-generation console versions of Divinity: Original Sin 2. Accompanying the release was a blog post from the studio, which included a morsel of information that delighted fans of the series.

"Divinity will offer a completely new story, but there's some continuity and characters for those who've played previous games. You might even pick up on certain things others may not!," reads the frequently-asked-questions section of the post.

Predictably, this immediately led to speculation about which characters that appeared in Divinity: Original Sin could potentially appear in Divinity. It's no easy feat to predict these appearances, because we know very little about the timeline of the upcoming game. It seems likely that Divinity will occur between Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Divine Divinity, which is a window of about 1,200 years.
