There have been rumblings suggesting the Dead Island series isn't over and that Dambuster Studios might be working on a third game in the series. Turns out those rumblings were true as the studio has quietly confirmed Dead Island 3 is real, and even has a target release window.
Dambuster released its latest financial statements this week, and tucked away in there, almost as if it didn't want anyone to notice it, is news about Dead Island 3. Not a suggestion that there might be another Dead Island game, not even something with a transparent codename. The documents quite literally refer to the game it is currently working on as Dead Island 3, no ambiguity whatsoever.
Twitter user bogorad222 spotted the Dead Island 3 mention (thanks, VGC). The documents note that the entire Dambuster development team is now working solely on the next Dead Island game, and that once they have finished their work on the Luna and Mac ports of Dead Island 2, the rest of the QA team will be joining them.
