The wait for Deltarune Chapter 5 might not be as long as people feared, as creator Toby Fox has said that he believes the release is only a few months away.
Deltarune has had some lengthy waits between chapters, with Chapter 1 launching in 2018, Chapter 2 in 2021, and Chapters 3 & 4 together in 2025. The ending of Chapter 4 confirmed that Chapter 5 would launch in 2026, but fans thought this might be wishful thinking, considering the delays that had plagued the series.
Fox had previously suggested that Deltarune Chapter 5 would be a late 2026 release, but he has now changed his mind. In the Winter 2025 Undertale/Deltarune newsletter, he said progress is moving swiftly and that the game could arrive soon.
