Fortnite's recently released SpongeBob SquarePants Sidekick seems to be the first one that players actually like and don't think is a massive waste of V-Bucks.
Over the years, Epic Games has come up with a lot of new ways to tempt Fortnite players into spending their V-Bucks. Battle passes and skins are the obvious ones, but then there are also Jam Tracks, vehicles, Kicks, and, most recently, Sidekicks. As always, Sidekicks ran into the usual complaints about being far too expensive, but they also had some unique issues of their own.
Infamously, Sidekicks can only have their appearance customised once, meaning that players will need to buy them again if they want to change the colour, fur, or ears of their companion. That's made Sidekicks an easy punching bag for pretty much every Fortnite player, but it looks like Epic may have finally cracked the code.
