Dispatch Could Be Crowned Game Of The Year In 2026, But Its Creators Aren't Sure You'll Still Care

The episodic nature of Dispatch, and when its episodes dropped, left it in an awkward position in terms of Game Awards nominations. There's a silver lining for those who thought it should have been nominated for Game of the Year, though - it will officially be eligible to be nominated again next year.

AdHoc co-founder, Pieree Shorette, confirmed in an interview with Eurogamer that when those in the industry put their heads together to decide 2026's Game Awards nominees, Dispatch will be included in the pool of potential nominees. "I have heard from Geoff [Keighley] that we qualify for next year," Shorette revealed, adding, " I just don't think- it's a question of if anyone's going to care."

As exciting as it is to know Dispatch will qualify for Game Awards nomination in 2026, and as fresh as it feels right now, it's a fair assumption that 11 months from now, we won't be thinking of Dispatch quite as much. It'll fall into the same category as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a game that was released too late to be considered for 2024's GOTY, but so long ago that it was barely mentioned during this year's TGAs....
