Publisher Spike Chunsoft has announced that the Danganronpa series of visual novel adventures has reached a major sales milestone.
Per a message on social media, the Danganronpa series has surpassed ten million sales, which is a pretty impressive milestone for a niche franchise like this one. Naturally, that figure counts across all of the games released in the series thus far, but Spike Chunsoft still has reason to celebrate if you ask me.
The publisher's message is characteristically brief; Spike Chunsoft simply says that fans' "love and support for the Danganronpa series for the past 15 years is greatly appreciated". I'm sure the feeling is mutual with regards to the publisher's desire to keep making these games; it certainly is for me!
The Danganronpa series began in 2010 with the release of the first title, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, although Western gamers didn't get the chance to check the game out until 2014, when a version was released for Sony's ill-fated PlayStation Vita.
Since the Vita proved doomed, Danganronpa made its way to PC in 2016, and it's since been ported to consoles as well. To date, the Danganronpa series has three mainline offerings, with a number of spinoffs...
