After The AI Backlash, Larian Will Answer Questions About Divinity Tomorrow

Larian has set a time and a date for its Q&A about its next game, Divinity. It will take place on the r/games subreddit on January 9, at 2pm CET.

It comes after Larian upset many within its own community last month, as CEO Swen Vincke confirmed that generative AI was being used in the early stages of Divinity's development. Attempts to address the controversy on Twitter only made matters worse, prompting Vincke to announce that this upcoming Q&A will answer any lingering questions.

We're told that we'll be able to ask the Larian team about "Divinity and [its] development process" tomorrow, which would encompass any questions everyone has about AI. However, this will also be an opportunity for fans who were introduced to Larian games through Baldur's Gate 3 to ask questions about this original IP they may not have experienced before.

The AI drama began when Vincke did a series of interviews with various publications regarding Divinity's development. Speaking to TheGamer, he said that generative AI was doing the jobs that "nobody wants to do", with tedious tasks being sped along.
