Final Fantasy 14 has been losing players ever since the launch of Dawntrail in 2024, dropping from concurrent peaks as high as 92,000 to as low as 21,000 on Steam, but the recent 7.4 patch has proven a huge success with the community, winning back some much-needed goodwill for Square Enix. And to capitalise on its newfound momentum, the team has brought back the Free Login Campaign.
Running from now until February 9, 2:59pm GMT (9:59am EST), lapsed players who have been inactive for at least 30 days are invited to return to Etheirys without needing a subscription. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

If you have multiple service accounts registered to a single Square Enix account, you cannot participate if any of them are currently active.
If you are qualified for the Free Login Campaign, you have four days from the moment you log into the launcher to enjoy Final Fantasy 14 at no extra cost. However, be warned, the four days will expire "regardlesss of whether you actually play the game".
