Crimson Desert's Giant Map Reveal Isn't Getting The Reactions Its Developers Might Have Wanted

Those eagerly awaiting Crimson Desert's release have assumed it's going to be big. What we didn't know until a few days ago is just how big the open-world game is going to be. Turns out its world will be roughly twice the size of Skyrim, a detail Pearl Abyss likely assumed would be celebrated, but it appears to have left quite a few of you more concerned than excited.

"The world's at least twice as big as the open world, the playable area, of Skyrim. It's larger than the map of Red Dead Redemption 2," are the vague, but clearly very expansive, specifics detailed by Pearl Abyss when discussing Crimson Desert's size. While I'm sure some are excited by the prospect of having a world that big to get explore, others are worried that there has been a focus on quantity over quality.

TheBlackHokage has led the charge when it comes to potential players voicing their concerns. "You making the map bigger doesn’t make the game better," they tweeted. "Give us ten square miles of actual content instead of 100,000 miles of copy-pasted forests with boring fetch quests."
