You would think that with the promise of GTA 6 releasing before the end of the year, and considering it was originally supposed to be here by now, GTA 5 sales might have finally started to dry up. Turns out that isn't even close to being the case, as 12 years later, Rockstar's juggernaut managed to outsell almost every single game on both the US and Europe on PS5 last year.
PlayStation has shared charts revealing which games were the most downloaded on its platforms in 2025, and although physical sales aren't accounted for, the data represents the majority as more gamers make the shift to digital games. In the US, NBA 2K26 was the most downloaded PS5 game of the year, while EA Sports FC 26 tops the bill in Europe.
Makes sense as that's basically the European equivalent of NBA 2K.
