The Witcher 3 is easily one of the most influential RPGs of the modern era, and even today, it's still being played on a regular basis. That's possibly why the game has been getting fairly consistent DLC drops ever since it launched. Even now, there are rumblings of The Witcher 3 getting a new paid expansion at some point soon, which is rumored to be in the works by The Witcher 1 Remake team Fool's Theory.
This rumor originally came from a Polish podcast called Rock and Boris, created by Polish industry insider Borys Nieśpielak. He later doubled down on this before The Game Awards, expecting the DLC to be announced with a release date of some time in 2026. Obviously, that never occurred, but that doesn't mean the rumor is dead and buried.
Thanks to Eurogamer, we now have some fresh rumors that The Witcher 3's rumored expansion may be real after all. For starters, an analyst at Polish Noble Securities called Mateusz Chrzanowski wrote a report after The Game Awards had been and gone, claiming that this rumored DLC was actually real, and would release in May 2026.
