Far Cry's back in session in an unexpected way. Far Cry 3: Classic Edition, which came out over seven years ago and brought the 2012 action game to a new generation of consoles, is getting a big boost for modern hardware.
60 FPS updates are always welcome, especially when they're free. That's exactly what's en route for Far Cry 3, and it seems likely that the same is destined to happen for both Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic and Far Cry Primal. Heck yeah.
The above trailer, posted by PlayStation to showcase (what else?) the PlayStation version's own update, confirms the 60 FPS mode is coming on January 21. It's available as part of Ubisoft+ subscriptions, as well as through PlayStation Plus through the Extra and Premium options. The game can also be purchased separately, of course.
Ubisoft themselves makes it clear that this isn't a PlayStation-only affair, with (presumably) PC and Xbox Series X|S getting their own fun:
