Halo: Campaign Evolved is a complete remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, the game that launched the legendary first-person-shooter series in 2001. Combat Evolved was previously remastered in the Master Chief Collection, but Campaign Evolved is a complete overhaul created in Unreal Engine 5.

A controversial aspect of Campaign Evolved is that it's the first time that Halo will be coming to PlayStation 5. It's reminiscent of Sonic Advance, the blue hedgehog's first appearance on Nintendo hardware. It's no surprise that Xbox has chosen to go down this route, given how large the user base of the PlayStation 5 is compared to the Xbox Series X/S.

In an interview with GamesRadar+, Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries) offered another reason why Halo: Campaign Evolved would be releasing on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (as well as PC).

"We hope to bring along the series veterans who have been with us for the past 25 years on the Xbox and PC platforms, and have them be able to play with an entirely new generation," said Damon Conn, Campaign Evolved's executive producer.

"Maybe people who have never been exposed to Halo, because they've always been on Sony products," he continued....
