The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been cancelled. Ubisoft confirmed the news today alongside five other game cancellations and seven game delays.
This is part of a "major reset" at Ubisoft, laid out by the company in a press release. As part of this reset, Ubisoft will be more "selective" with its games, while also exploring generative AI.
The studio also says that these decisions are part of making Ubisoft a more "gamer-centric organisation" (whatever that might mean) that "quickly adapt[s] to players’ expectations."
The Prince of Persia remake was said to be just days away from release, with rumours of a shadow-drop spreading online. It was previously suspected to be a January 2026 release late last year, seemingly backed up by an ESRB rating that was spotted last week.
