Arknights: Endfield is arguably 2026's most-anticipated free-to-play gacha title. A spin-off RPG set in the popular Arknights universe, the title finally launched today, Thursday, January 22.

Unfortunately, its launch has been far from smooth, with multiple reports from players that they are being charged obscene, oftentimes random, prices when trying to make in-game purchases using PayPal.

Reports of payment issues began to surface as soon as Arknights: Endfield launched. The game's community-run subreddit was awash with players complaining that, through PayPal, they were being charged random amounts of money, occasionally even being charged for other players' purchases.

Despite its gorgeous world and characters, Arknights: Endfield is stuck deep in gacha purgatory. A game that does not respect your time, or reward it.

On Reddit, one player said, "So I was attempting to buy something and someone else's PayPal got saved to my account, and I was charged the wrong amount entirely." In another thread, Tinman244 said, "Thankfully, I managed to catch this before confirming my payment, but I tried to pick up the monthly pass using PayPal and the game tried to charge me $1,200 USD for it."
