Super Mario Bros. Wonder's Switch 2 upgrade will be met with three brand-new amiibo based on characters from the game, including everyone's favourite Elephant Mario.
Although it seems like we're still a way off getting a brand-new Mario game from Nintendo, it's not like fans of the red plumber don't have plenty to look forward to. Not only do we have the movie coming later this year, but the most recent mainline Mario game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, is also getting a Switch 2 upgrade.
Nintendo announced the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder a few months ago during the 40th anniversary Direct, but it's now shared even more details in a new trailer. Not only did that trailer confirm the upgrade's release date of March 26, but it also revealed three brand-new amiibo that are launching on the same day.
The big gameplay deep dive for Super Mario Bros. Wonder's Switch 2 upgrade (which includes the Meetup in Bellabel Park expansion) had plenty of bombshells, such as Rosalina being playable, but tthe highlight was the reveal of three new amiibo.
